“One of the goals of Nickelodeon Eyewear is to make it fun for kids to wear glasses,” says Pat Aptaker, “and you can’t get much more fun than the movies.” Aptaker further notes that the young actress, who could have selected any frame she wanted for the film, chose to wear her own Nickelodeon style. “Aria’s mom said that she hoped seeing Aria in her Dora frame would help other kids recognize that glasses can be stylish and fun,” Aptaker adds. According to Patty Hurley, Nouveau Marketing Director, a stylist from the film contacted Nouveau and explained that their young, rising star wore the C’Mon Vamanos from the Dora the Explorer Collection. The wardrobe staff loved the frame and wanted to order several more to keep on hand during filming. “We were thrilled but not surprised,” recalls Hurley, “because Nickelodeon has been so high-profile and in-demand since the very beginning.” According to Hurley, Aria has since added several new Nickelodeon frame styles to her wardrobe — including the SpongeBob Patrick and Aqua. In the film, Aria plays younger sister to teen sensation Hilary Duff and daughter to star Heather Locklear. Previously, Ms. Wallace has appeared on TV in The Bernie Mac Show, Charmed, That 70’s Show, and Judging Amy among others. The Perfect Man is her first feature length film. Ranked #4 among PG films over the July 4th weekend, The Perfect Man is a Universal Pictures release. The C’Mon Vamanos has also been a star performer for Nouveau, with strong sales in every channel. “The girl power styling” has made this style a huge hit, explains Marj McGraw, Senior Vice President of Product for Nouveau. The frame is a feminine oval with flower-strewn temples accented by Dora’s smiling face.
