According to Marj McGraw, Senior Vice President of Product, the popular Nick TV shows drive the eyewear collection concept. “We try to capture the personality of a favorite Nick character or program in each frame,” she explains. “And we have a constant stream of new shows and characters to keep the brand fresh year after year.” Dora the Explorer targets kids 2-7, while The Fairly OddParents and SpongeBob target older kids 6-12 and tweens13-17. Dora styles focus on elements to delight little girls, such as the embossed flower temples on the Amiga. SpongeBob styles draw on underwater motifs from the quirky show, including porthole and sea life designs on temples. Two of the newest styles, the Goofy Goober and Bikini Bottom offer “grown up” eye shapes proportioned just for kids. The Fairly OddParents newest styles dazzle with magical motifs such as iridescent finishes and star-shaped temple tips. Other styles in the current collection include models inspired by the popular shows Blue’s Clues (for kids 2-6) and Jimmy Neutron (for kids 6-12). New Jimmy Neutron styles launch Nick’s interpretation of Memory Metal Eyewear. Only premium Japanese memory metal is used to create the ultimate in durable, kid-friendly style. Lightweight, strong, and flexible, the new Jimmy Neutron models, Gravity Bubble and Jet Pack, practically defy the laws of physics as they twist and bend to withstand a kid’s daily wear. New SpongeBob Memory Metal styles will be available by Fall ’06. For More Information,
